Swim 1.5 miles from Alcatraz to the East Beach of Crissy Field.
 
Alcatraz Challenge Aquathlon & Swim
Sunday July 17, 2010 - 8:00 a.m.
 
Swim 1.5 miles from Alcatraz to the East Beach of Crissy Field then run 7.0 miles out & back along the Presidio Promenade and across the Golden Gate Bridge.  Relay and Swim only options available
 
Enjoy two of San Francisco's preeminent landmarks up close and personal.
 
Note:  Both swims can be very rough & challenging.  They are NOT for novices.  You should have sufficient open water experience before deciding to take the "challenge."
